Synthesis and bioassay studies of 7-substituted pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines

Abstract  4-Aminopyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde1 underwent facile condensation with various aromaticketone derivatives in the presence of K 2 CO 3 and small catalytic amount of KI in acetone was afforded corresponding 7-Substituted pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives 3a-j. Their chemical structures were characterized using IR, H 1 NMR and Mass spectral studies. All the above compounds were screened for anti-microbial activity, anti-oxidant activity and their bio assay showed them to possess significant antimicrobial activity and anti-oxidant activity. 

Anthelmintic and anti-microbial activity of some no vel chalcone derivatives

Abstract  In this study, substituted chalcone derivatives were synthesized and their Anthelmintic and Anti-microbial activities were carried out. Chalcone derivatives were obtained by the treatment of substituted acetophenone with substituted aromatic and hetero aromatic aldehydes. The structure elucidation of the compounds was performed by UV, IR, 1 H NMR. Generally the prepared compound exhibited only moderate Anthelmintic and Anti-microbial activity; however, a few of them exhibited good activity. Synthesis and biological screening of picric acid & p-amino phenol derivatives for anti-microbial activity

The treatment of infectious diseases still remains an important and challenging problem because of a combination of factors including emerging infectious diseases and the increasing number of multi-drug resistant microbial pathogens with particular relevance for Gram positive bacteria. Bacteria are among the oldest living organisms on earth and are very small. Because the bacteria structure is so minute, it can only be seen through a microscope. Bacteria are commonly found in the ground, water and in other living organisms. While some types of bacteria can cause diseases and become harmful to the environment, animals and humans, others offer benefits that we likely could not live without. Some types of bacteria can attack plants, causing diseases like leaf spot and fire blight. PDF
