Evaluation of antiulcer activity of root and leaf e xtract of Polyscias balfouriana var.marginata

Abstract  Polyscias Balfourianais an ornamental plant which belongs to the family Araliaceae. The plant is a bushy shrub with glossy green coloured leaves with white margins. The chemical nature of the active principles is high content of triterpenoid saponins. The family and the chemical nature of this plant are same as that of Panax Ginseng. Since ginseng is well established for its anti stress property, it was used as the standard drug for evaluating the anti ulcer activity. Ulcer was induced by physical and chemical method. The leaf and root extract was given in two different concentrations of 250mg/kg and 500mg/kg body weight. Thermal dynamic system of the outcrop coal fire under the control of multi-ventilation power factors and its application

ABSTRACT: The objective of this paper is to obtain the developing tendency of outcrop coal fire under the multi-ventilation powers and fire pressure, so as to provide technical support for the governance of the fire area and ensuring mine work safety. The structural characteristic of the thermal dynamic system of outcrop coal fire under the control of multi-ventilation power factors have been analyzed and the practical application has been carried out. The thermal dynamic system of the outcrop coal fire under the control of multi-ventilation power factors include five sub-systems, namely combustion, heat dissipation of coal and rock, gas seepage and oxygen supply, gas discharge, and goaf leakage. Then, the mathematical model of the thermal dynamic system is set up and is applied in the old Shaft II fire area of Didao coalmine. Synthesis and evaluation of some novel 5-(1-benzoylamino-2-(substituted phenyl) vinyl)-2-amino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles for antimicrobial and antioxidant activities

ABSTRACT:  A series of 5-(1-benzoylamino-2-(substitutedphenyl)vinyl)-2-amino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles derivatives 3(a-n) were synthesized by warming α-benzamido-cinnamhydrazides 2(a-n) and cyanogen bromide in ethanol. α-Benzamidocinnamhydrazides 2(a-n) were obtained by stirring 4-benzylidine-2-phenyloxazole-5-ones 1(a-n) with a 90 % hydrazine hydrate in ethanol. The chemical structures of title compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR. All the compounds were screened for antimicrobial and antioxidant activities .Among the series of the compounds i.e., 4- methoxy derivative (3g) showed significant antibacterial activity. Bromo vanillinyl derivative (3k) showed good nitric oxide scavenging activity. 4-dimethylamino derivative (3f) showed significant activity in reduction of DPPH.
