Validation of Spectrophotometric Methods for Quanti tative Determination of 7-ADCA in Pharmaceutical Formulations

Image
ABSTRACT Two simple, sensitive and accurate methods are described for the determination of 7-Amino deacetoxy cephalosporanic acid (7-ADCA) in bulk drug and in formulations. Method M 1 &M 2 are based on the oxidizing reaction between 7-ADCA and Ninhydrin-Ascorbic acid (NIN-AA) (M 1 ); β -Napthol-H 2 O 2 -Cupric nitrate-2, 4-DNP-Ammonium hydroxide ( β -NPT,H 2 O 2 -DNP)(M 2 ) solutions. The chromogen being extractable with chloroform could be measured quantitatively at 400 nm (M 1 ) and 420 nm (M 2 ).

Spectrophotometric Methods for the Determination of Selected Drugs in Pharmaceutical Formulations

Simple, sensitive and precise spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the estimation of valacyclovir, aceclofenac, racecadotril, valdecoxib, nebivolol and reboxetine in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms. Methanol and triple distilled water were used as solvents for the estimation of all these drugs. Absorption maxima of all the above drugs were determined and the estimations were carried out in tablet dosage forms. Results of the analysis were validated statistically and by recovery studies. PDF
