A Review: Different Generation Approaches of Transdermal drug delivery System

ABSTRACT Transdermal Delivery of drugs into systemic circulation via skin has generated lot of interest during the last decade. Transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) offer many advantages over the conventional dosage forms or controlled releaseperoral delivery system. First generation transdermal delivery systems have continued their steady increase in clinical use for delivery of small, lipophilic, low-dose drugs. Second-generation delivery systems using chemical enhancers, non-cavitational ultrasound and iontophoresis have also resulted in clinical products.
