Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of thiazine derivatives

ABSTRACT:

A series 2-[4-(2-amino-6-phenyl-6H-1,3-thiazin-4-yl)phenoxy]ethanol derivative (4a-4g) were synthesized from 1- [4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one (3a-3g) with thiourea And sodium hydroxide in ethanol. All the synthesized compounds characterized on the basis of their IR, 1H NMR spectroscopic data and elemental analysis. All the compounds have been screened for antimicrobial activity by the cup-plate method.
