Determination of water quality index and fitness of urban water bodies in Bilari town of Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh)


ABSTRACT:

In the present study, water quality Index (WQI) calculated and intended of the water bodies to ascertain the quality of water for public health in Bilari town of Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, India. This study deals the influence of environmental parameters of water quality of different water bodies. There are many ways to evaluate the quality of water as deemed fit for drinking and irrigation purpose. WQI indicating the water quality in terms of index number which offers a useful representation of overall quality of water for public use or for any other intended applications. A number of parameters affect the usability of water source for particular purpose. In this study water quality index is determined on the basis of various physico-chemical parameters. From the foregoing observation of the physico-chemical parameters, it may be concluded that the water bodies show the characters of eutrophication.

ABSTRACT : The quantitation of civetone and normuscone in small Indian civet (Viverricula indica Desmarest) secretion cultivated in Thailand was analyzed by gas chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Three main chemical constituents of small Indian civet secretion were civetone, dihydrocivetone and normuscone. The contents of chemical constituents were different between male and female secretion. Civetone (23.6 ± 1.5 µg/mg of secretion) was a major chemical constituent in the female secretion while normuscone (52.1 ± 5.9 µg/mg of secretion) was a major in the male secretion. Both civetone and normuscone were found in civet fur but not in the feces. Aromatic remedies which claimed to use the small Indian civet secretion as an ingredient showed both civetone and normuscone.   ABSTRACT : Most of the bacterial pathogens are resistant to existing synthetic antibacterial agents demanding an increasing effort to seek effective phytochemicals as antibacterial agents against such pathogens. Nigella sativa L. (black cumin) seeds play an important role in folk medicine and some of its major constituents are reported to be pharmacologically active. Analysis of total phenols,total tannins and screening of phytocomponents in Indigofera aspalathoides (Shivanar Vembu) Vahl EX DC

ABSTRACT: The plant Indigofera aspalathoides is popularly known as Sivanar vembu in Tamil belongs to the family fabaceae. The stem is traditionally used for various skin disorders and cancer. In the traditional medicinal system, the leaves, flowers and tender shoot are said to be cooling and demulcent, they are used in the form of decoction for leprosy and cancer affections. Qualitative and quantitative Phytocomponents test were screened in Indigofera aspalathoides. The total content of some important phytochemical constituents like phenols, tannins of Indigofera aspalathoides by studied using spectrophotometric methods.
