Synthesis and biological activity study of 1-[4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1,3- benzothiazol-(2-yldiazenyl)]-2-naphthol complexes

ABSTRACT:

A series of new metal complexes Cr+3, Fe+3,Ni+2,Co+2, and Cu+2, with dye ligand derived from 2- aminobenzothiazole have been prepared and fully characterized on the basic of microelement analysis, atomic Absorption, 1HNMR, FT-IR, UV-visible spectra techniques as well as the magnetic moment of solid complexes and molars conductance. The results abstained from (C.H.N.M) analysis and spectral measurements investigated all complexes are octaherdral geometries in the formula [ML2(H2O)2]X, where M = Co+2, and Cu+2, X = Cl-1 for Cr+3 and Fe+3 except [NiL2]Cl2 which was square planer. The biological activity of the ligand and their complexes were studied against selected types of bacterial and fungal which included Staphylococcus, Klebsiella, Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
