Release Studies of Ketoprofen Niosome Formulation


ABSTRACT:

Anti-inflammatory drug ketoprofen was encapsulated in niosome for topical application. Ketoprofen niosome were prepared by thin film hydration method technique using surfactant, cholesterol, dicetyl phosphate & drug mixture in different weight ratios. The prepared niosomes were characterized by various physicochemical parameters & evaluation of release studies of entrapped ketoprofen in niosomes were carried out by UV Visible spectrophotometric method.

Introduction:

 Niosomes are surfactant vesicles which are used to entrap several pharmaceutical drugs to enhance their sustainability . The present research is attempt towards development of topical application of ketoprofen niosomes. so that drug will reach to target site with enhance sustainability & stability. The novelty of research work is to provide effective and maximize drug concentrations and therapeutic value.

Materials and Methods:

Sorbitan Esters-20, 40, 60 & 80 & Cholesterol were purchased from Thomas Baker Co Limited. Dicetyl phosphate was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich USA. Ketoprofen Sample was gifted from Menarni Raunaq Pharmaceuticals Limited. All other Chemicals and solvents were of analytical or pharmacopoieal grade.

Result and Discussion

Span 20 & 80 does not form a thin & dry film at rbf . These Spans are not used further in the research or experimental investigations. Only Span 40 & 60 were used to carry out further investigations.

ABSTRACT : The quantitation of civetone and normuscone in small Indian civet (Viverricula indica Desmarest) secretion cultivated in Thailand was analyzed by gas chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Three main chemical constituents of small Indian civet secretion were civetone, dihydrocivetone and normuscone. The contents of chemical constituents were different between male and female secretion. Civetone (23.6 ± 1.5 µg/mg of secretion) was a major chemical constituent in the female secretion while normuscone (52.1 ± 5.9 µg/mg of secretion) was a major in the male secretion. Both civetone and normuscone were found in civet fur but not in the feces. Aromatic remedies which claimed to use the small Indian civet secretion as an ingredient showed both civetone and normuscone.   ABSTRACT : Most of the bacterial pathogens are resistant to existing synthetic antibacterial agents demanding an increasing effort to seek effective phytochemicals as antibacterial agents against such pathogens. Nigella sativa L. (black cumin) seeds play an important role in folk medicine and some of its major constituents are reported to be pharmacologically active. Analysis of total phenols,total tannins and screening of phytocomponents in Indigofera aspalathoides (Shivanar Vembu) Vahl EX DC

ABSTRACT: The plant Indigofera aspalathoides is popularly known as Sivanar vembu in Tamil belongs to the family fabaceae. The stem is traditionally used for various skin disorders and cancer. In the traditional medicinal system, the leaves, flowers and tender shoot are said to be cooling and demulcent, they are used in the form of decoction for leprosy and cancer affections. Qualitative and quantitative Phytocomponents test were screened in Indigofera aspalathoides. The total content of some important phytochemical constituents like phenols, tannins of Indigofera aspalathoides by studied using spectrophotometric methods.
